Why? Because you have not built a habit of spending less than you earn. Here is a cold, harsh fact: if you will not save money while making 30,000 yearly, you will not save money when you make 90,000 yearly. I’ve heard this many times: “if I made more money, I would save money” It is as if reaching a new level of income opens the door to a new level of needs and desires. A bigger apartment, shinier car, organic gummy worms. What gives? For the vast majority of people, here is what happens: as income rises, so do the grandeur of our “needs”. No yacht to show for my labors, no penthouse in the Amazon. I make WAY more money than I used to, yet I am still just as broke as before. But, i am willing to bet that MANY people have shared this epiphany with me: We take pride in waking up before the chickens cluck we love making ever greater sums of money for our labors.
